A Happy Ending!

August 29, 2007, the last night of Library in Adriatico Street, Malate was such a memorable one. Nobody knows that it was the last performance on that location that we have loved and embraced for twenty-two years. Every corner, shelves, rooms and the stage speaks of so much fun filled memories. Its was a packed Wednesday then, (as always) and the group performers headed by La Vivorah, Miss Ador, Paula and Dax Martin was on their highest level of energy entertaining the guests with much gusto.
 
I was in Orosa Street that day, preparing the new Library, filling up the shelves with books donated by friends and colleagues, cleaning the whole area with the help of my ever loyal staff. It was 1am when we finished cleaning up the whole place and with so much excitement, I told my staff to get all the other tables and stuff at the old Library so we can put all of it in the new location. I have almost forgotten that the old one was still in operation and still filled with guests. Hahaha!

La Vivorah said over the microphone, seeing the staff removing the tables emptied by guests, “Anong nangyayari? Maglilipat na ba? Hoyy! May tao pa!”  Words that made everybody laughed and wandered what is happening. I quickly went to Adriatico location and when the entertainers saw me they all said “Mamu... ano to? Wala man lang pasabi? Walang warning? Excited??? All I did was give them a good nod and showed how excited I really am. “Lipat na tayo! Ang ganda ng bagong Library! Gusto kong makita ninyo na!” (very nanay hehehe).

Some of the guests said… “Sama kami. Tulong kami maglipat! Excited na din kami makita.”  I begged off, I told them, sa opening na lang.

It was a night worth remembering. We sang our last song for the guests, “Minsan Ang Minahal ay Ako” from the musical “KATY” with so much feelings and in between the song I softly uttered… thank you library for all the good memories and promise.. dadalhin naming lahat ito sa aming paglipat... salamat sa lahat ng blessings… God bless The Library Family…

After the singing… pictorial session na! kuwentuhan, tawanan, ligpitan ng gamit, making sure that every little pieces from the old Library that speaks of so much memories would not be miss!

As they always say, “In every ending, there is always a new beginning”.
