The Library moves to a new location
(and it’s still open way past midnight)
FOR 22 years, The Library occupied a small space in a rundown building on M. Adriatico Street in Malate. But its patrons didn’t mind, and night after night, they came to sing along with the hosts and watch the special shows the owners mounted.
Mega typhoons, earthquakes and even the ashes from Mount Pinatubo’s eruption in the early nineties didn’t stop the people who bravely went into the establishment just to get their share of fun and entertainment. |
But like any book, there is always the final chapter where the ending is revealed. Although oftentimes,
the end gives birth to another book, and spawns newer and more interesting stories—this is precisely what The Library is going through now.
The Library has moved to a much bigger place, just a stone’s throw away from where the memories of two decades were built.

It's well-loved owner, Andrew de Real brings with him and his staff many unforgettable anecdotes about the old location, and is open to embracing the unfolding of its new chapters.
Now standing on a space of 630 square meters in a new building at 1739 Maria Orosa Street, there is more room, not just for books and the music sheets and the lyrics folders, but for the many people who continue to be entertained by what The Library has offered in the last two decades. The good thing is, it’s still open way past midnight, and until the wee hours of the morning during special weekends.
